Meet your mentor

Shaelyn Misiak

As a friend, daughter, sister, wife, and mother, Shaelyn is not in any way unfamiliar with the joys, sorrows, and suffering that comes with family life and intimate relationships. In fact, after a lifetime of being an observer, participant, and student of life and people, Shaelyn has discovered that relationships are the source of both our greatest suffering and our greatest joy. Why? Because God designed us to exist and flourish in relationship with others, and we ache and fight when things aren’t as they ought to be.

This is why Shaelyn has made it her mission to heal the wounds of those who have suffered in relationships within the context of a therapeutic relationship of accompaniment and care with herself. Individuals, couples, and parents worldwide have come to her to heal from their wounds, gain self and relational awareness, grow in their capacity to give and receive love, and ultimately to become who they were created to be.

Shaelyn has a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University and has transitioned from providing traditional therapy to providing ‘mentorship’ after obtaining a certification through the CatholicPsych Institute in the Model of Applied Personalism, which is a daily model of accompaniment that is firmly rooted in an integration of Catholic philosophy and theology, and evidence-based secular psychology.

How Shaelyn went from therapist to

Certified Mentor

After several years of working as a mental health therapist,  Shaelyn couldn’t shake the feeling that there must be a better and more human way to help people.

Fortunately, it wasn’t long before God introduced her to the CatholicPsych Institute and the incredible work they were doing to revolutionize the field of mental health and wellness. Because of her deep longing to provide a better option for those in her care, she chose to enroll in the first cohort of their mentorship training program without hesitation.

Obtaining this certification has not only radically transformed the lives those she works with, it has changed hers as well. Between being trained in a thoroughly integrated Catholic approach to psychology and having the opportunity to receive mentorship personally, everything about her life and her work has been changed for the better.

Experience this change for yourself!

Why Mentorship? Why Shaelyn?

If you are here, chances are you are deeply hurting, not just in your mind or body, but in your spirit as well, and that deserves to be taken seriously. When working with Shaelyn you can trust that you are not just working with a committed and practicing Catholic trained in a secular model of therapy, but rather a committed and practicing Catholic trained in a truly Catholic model of providing daily accompaniment who will care for you in your totality – body, mind, and soul.

The Honest Truth

Shaelyn will not heal you, at least, not on her own. Shaelyn recognizes her role as a humble tool in the hands of Jesus, the ultimate healer, and credits the breakthroughs of those she works with to the power and the grace of the Holy Spirit. She will, however, help you to identify and transform the relational wounds that have hindered your healing thus far. She believes that doing this in the context of a safe and restorative relationship will aid you as you grow in relationship and likeness with the Lord and open yourself to the fullness of healing and freedom for which He created you.
